What you see if you look around in Barcelona(Kathryn)

About every 2 blocks there's a pastry shop, that sells donuts and coffee and other things like that.  Cookies are rare here, though.  I haven't seen a cupkake, but if you look in a pastry store, you're likely to see regular cakes.

You can find grocery stores scattered around; there is one store, called Condis, and it's really convenient for us because all we have to do is cross the street, walk a little ways, and we're there.  Also there's a store called Mercadona, which is about 3 blocks away, but it's a bigger store so if Condis doesn't have what we want we can go there.  There are some other grocery stores, like Lidl and Dia, and a store called Sorli Discau, which you could compare to Aldi.  Mom loves the cheap prices.  It's about 3 blocks away.

Also, there are many big buildings - we see one every few blocks.  We can see the Sagrada Familia church building from our apartment, even though we live 4 blocks away from it.  Our balcony faces apartment buildings, so we are just content looking at those and the cars. =)

And if you are observant, you're going to find a few beggars.  They are sometimes holding a sign that says something in Catalan, which I can understand a little bit of, and usually it says "Help me I don't have money", or something of the sort.  One time we were on the metro and a lady started singing something like "Help me please, sirs and madams, I don't have any money."  Another time we were at the Las Ramblas and there was a man with no arms with a cup in front of him.  Sometimes we give the beggars a little money and a tract.  Since they don't have anything to do, why not read it?  So they do.

Many of the stores/restaurants here have American names, like Sofa City or KFC.  Also, the movies.  They are about to show Toy Story 3 and Tangled in theaters, but in Catalan or Spanish, of course.

Time is passing quickly.  Our coughs seem to be getting a little better.  We tried to see a doctor yesterday, but it didn't work out.  Thank you for praying.
