Top 5 Highlights of the Month (Josiah)

5. Marianna's Birthday

Marianna opening presents
I had to include Marianna's birthday.  I'll give a brief summary.  Our American friends from church, Griffen and Faith and their mom, Mrs. Tracy, came to our house to celebrate.  We played party games, then Marianna opened her presents, then we went to a big park and played soccer, parachute, and rocket balloons.  We were planning to go to a pastry place with them, but that didn't work out, so we had it all.

4. Science Museum

The science museum was big.  It had all the things you'd expect to see at a science museum plus a little more.  Some of it I enjoyed, but some of the stuff there was either not fun or for slightly younger children, but as Dad says, it's difficult to make something fun and learning.

3. Salvador Dali museum

Samson
Salvador Dali was crazy.  That's probably rude, but our neighbors agree.  He was part of a Surrealist group.  When you look into a surreal painting, you're supposed to understand what unconscious dreams and thoughts are.  I definitely saw that in Dali's paintings.

2. La Pedrera

Tunnel pathway on La Pedrera roof
La Pedrera was a really fun place, because there were a lot of good pictures there, especially on the roof, and the whole place had cool designs (ex. tunnel in picture).  You can see many tall buildings from the roof.  There was a lot to do.

1. Interacting with the neighbors

Unfortunately, I don't have a picture for this subject.  Anyway, you may be surprised to know that my favorite highlight of the month is hanging out with our neighbors.  They have been so kind to us in so many ways, like helping us out with the mail and showing us where places are.  They have a 13 year-old son that enjoys soccer, and once we played with him at a park.  We have tried to go to one of his games on Saturday, but we keep having misunderstandings, but we hope to be at the game this Saturday.  They invited us over to eat, and we had a Moroccan meal, which is where Rema is from.  We try not to bug them too much, but whenever we
knock, they seem to be cheerful the whole time.

Our cough is still bothering us.  Thank you all for praying.
