One day last week, the children and I headed out to The Chocolate Museum in Barcelona. Nice tasty ticket--a chocolate bar. And the good kind--dark chocolate! This museum mostly focused on displays of sculptures made completely of chocolate. There was also information to read about where and when the cacao plant/bean was first discovered, how the beans were used as money, and how liquid chocolate was used to cure ailments. There were videos to watch showing the process of melting, pouring, molding, sculpting, etc., and a hands-on screen with chocolate trivia questions to guess at. We also got to look through the glass windows of the very large kitchen where about 20 or so "chocolate chefs and sculptors" were at work on their creations. Here are some pictures from the museum.

Hi Ya'll,
Uncle Lawrence here. I have been faithfully reading about your adventures and I love all your blogging. Your descriptions and insights are wonderful. What a great experience!
It has been a good experience for us. For the children it is like a vacation. Three or four times per week there is something exciting: trip to aquarium, street performers, parks, Picasso museum, beach, eating with American and Spanish friends.
While we were at the beach, Marianna (while playing in the sand) said "I want to come to Spain again." Well, sweetie, you might have to find yourself a "sugar daddy" to make it happen. Jim

I'm a bit jealous as I follow your blog. Looks like an amazing family adventure.
And...I can hardly believe how big Josiah is getting. Guess he won't need to jump for a high five much longer.
It has been an amazing adventure. My hope now is that it becomes more than just a good memory for the children but makes them more sensitive to the needs of internationals here in the US and also raises an interest for them in longer overseas trips as they get older.
Josiah is now officially taller than Deborah. And he eats more than me at most meals.
Great pics of u guys!!
