MontJuic Fountains (Josiah)

I have fallen pretty far behind, so I am sorry.  But, I've still got another tourist attraction to write about and I also need to have my say on Barcelona.

The MontJuic Fountains are one of Barcelona's famous attractions because every night from around 9 to 12, lights pop up and the fountains "dance" to a popular tune.  We went twice over the last 2 weeks of our stay, but the first time, we had to sit (or rather stand) over 300 feet away from the fountains.  And also the first time, we went alone, but the next time, we enjoyed the fountains with one of our Chinese friends from the ICB church and his wife, Anny and Vicki, who are also Asian friends who stayed with us for a few days, and later, our American friends, the Fandls.  This time, we got photos with our friends in front of the fountains, watched in awe as they rocketed 30 feet into the air in red, blue, green, and orange color, and played games with the Fandls.

All of a sudden, this awful sound came to my ears, "IT'S ABOUT TIME TO GO HOME!!!!!!!"  That's just another way to say that we had a great time.

The Zoo(Kathryn)

OK, so I'm a little late on this post, but we went to the zoo in the middle of May, and I just wanted to write about it.

We went to the zoo with our friends the Fandls on a Sunday in the middle of May.  It was very big.  We got some discounts, thanks to the Fandls, and then decided what we would see, since we probably wouldn't have time to see everything.  The funny thing was, I think we saw just about everything, but we didn't see zebras. (At least I didn't.) Near the beginning, Dad decided he wanted to go at a faster pace than what we were doing, so he set a time and place to meet.  We climbed up on rocks to see the seals, and tried to follow one of them with our eyes.  Somtimes we would lose it, but then we would just find another seal.  While we were doing this, Mrs. Fandl was so kind as to go to the nearest concession stand and buy us each a lollipop.

There were a lot of monkeys at the zoo, really about 1/8 of the whole zoo were monkeys.  We didn't mind, though, they were really funny, especially the gorillas.  The little gorilla was sucking on a piece of plastic and the mom gorilla pulled him up-side down, his feet holding on to the ropes.  She took the plastic out of his mouth and hands, like she didn't approve, but then the mom started sucking on it herself!  That probably wasn't very funny to you, since it's one of those things where you have to be there.

We met up with Dad near the end, and finished the zoo .with him.  At the gift shop, Marianna bought a blue cup with a penguin on it.
